Abstract
Hashimoto encephalopathy (or Steroid Responsive Encephalopathy with Autoimmune Thyroiditis) Steroid-responsiveencephalopathy with autoimmune thyroiditis is arelatively uncommon entity in the pediatric population. Seizures of unknownetiology are a common presenting sign in the pediatric intensive care unit, andsteroid-responsive encephalopathy with autoimmunethyroiditis should be considered as a possible cause of recurrent seizures. The clinical presenting with variable symptoms rangingfrom behavioral and cognitive changes, myoclonus, seizures, pyramidal tractdysfunction, involuntary movements, and cerebellar signs to psychosis and coma,with relapsing and progressive course.Wereport an 14 year old boy with generalized seizures and behavioural changes.She was found to have sub-clinical hypothyroidism and elevated anti-thyroidperoxidase antibodies.
