Abstract
Objective To summarize the short-term efficacy of the treatment of IS with ACTH and analyze its influence factors.
Methods Collecting medical records of 73 cases IS that from February 2017 to February 2018 diagnosed and accepting the small dose short course ACTH for the treatment(1-2 iu/kg/day, id/mi, treatment 2 weeks) , and summarizing the situation seizure control and EEG changes at the end of two weeks treatment, analyzing whether gender, age, age of onset, course of diseases, perinatal conditions, growth and development before treatment, convulsions before treatment, etiology, complications during treatment, and combination of antiepileptic drugs during treatment to affect the therapeutic effect.
Results The short-term efficacy of the treatment of IS with ACTH is 45%, no attack rate 30%. Logistic regression showed that there is a significant difference in the number of antiepileptic drugs used in the effective group and the ineffective group, P = 0.006<0.05.
Conclusion ACTH is effective in the treatment of IS. The fewer antiepileptic drugs are used in the treatment of IS by ACTH, the higher the short-term efficiency.
