Abstract
Introduction:
Moya-moya is a disease in which arteries tend to constrict. Blood flow is blocked by the constriction of arteries or by thrombus. This results in acute stroke with or without neurological deficits.
Objective:
To study the management of stroke in known case of pediatric patient with moya moya disease presenting with different neurological symptoms and neurological deficits and to make standard guidelines for the same.
Material and Methods:
A prospective and non-randomized clinical case series of 4 patients, in age group < 16 years, diagnosed with moya moya disease, presenting with acute stroke from the period January 2015 to December 2017 with follow up period of 6 months.
Results and Conclusion:
All patients were managed conservatively with intense neuro observation. Four vessels angiography was done in all the cases. Anti-platelets drugs were started to prevent thrombus formation in 3 patients and one patient was observed without anti platelets drugs as the patient was having intracranial hemorrhage along with thrombotic stroke. Surgical management was planned for future.
