About Topic:
The ILAE released an updated classification of seizures in April 2025. This classification scheme was based on the previous classification framework of 2017. Some changes added better practicality to the semiology, while some pertinent changes made in the present classification seemed to forfeit the very terminologies that were vociferously introduced in the previous classification. There has been an ongoing debate about the uniform relevance of the classification across different stakeholders of epilepsy. This podcast aims to provide a much needed clarity about the basis of the changes in the new classification, case based examples on its applicability and discussion on its clinical implementation.
