Consultant Paediatric Neuroradiologist
Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH)
Dr Kish Mankad, Consultant Paediatric Neuroradiologist and the Clinical Lead for Paediatric Neuroradiology at Great Ormond Street Hospital, has been in post since 2011. He also holds an Associate Professorship with the Great Ormond Street UCL Institute of Child Health. Dr. Mankad's General Radiology training was in Leeds, leading to the FRCR, and Internal Medicine training in Sheffield, leading to the MRCP. He has an extensive education and training portfolio, having directed and delivered comprehensive teaching programmes across the UK, Australia, China, India and South America. He also directs the Paediatric Neuroradiology Masterclass at GOSH and has set up a PG Certification in Paediatric Neuroradiology. He has been a Visiting Professor to SickKids, Toronto, University of Messina in Italy and has also been awarded as the Outreach Professor in Neuroradiology to Ghana by the World Federation of Neuroradiological Societies.
His clinical academic interests are diverse, including neuro-oncology, infective and inflammatory diseases, brain malformations, white matter disorders, movement disorders and epilepsy. He has authored five textbooks, 125 peer-reviewed publications, and several book chapters. His international collaborations include Stanford University, Dobyns Lab in Seattle, Neuro-MIG COST Europe, Christian Medical College Hospital, Vellore as well as Gaslini Children’s Hospital, Genoa. He is a core member of the Brain Tumor Imaging group with SIOPe and a member of the ASPNR, RSNA, ESNR, and BSNR.
Kish is also a trained Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt and has completed the MBA essentials programme with the London School of Economics. As such he is passionate about quality and safety improvement, with a strong focus on healthcare economics and organisational behaviour.
