Should systematic screening for autism and developmental delay be routine for children with epilepsy
In a study(1) presented at the American Epilepsy Society (AES) 65th Annual Meeting investigators from from Children's Memorial Hospital in Chicago, Illinois followed up 44 children younger than 5 years seen at an epilepsy monitoring unit and a ketogenic diet clinic for about half a year and completed Ages and Stages Questionnaire, as well as an autism screening tool.
