We are very excited to welcome you to the 18th International Child Neurology Congress, which will be held in Cape Town, South Africa from May 6-10, 2024! We look forward to partnering with our African colleagues to provide an outstanding scientific program, with a rich diversity of state-of-the-art, child neurology topics with a global focus.

The theme of the 2024 Congress is “Footsteps to the Future”, reflecting both the remarkable progress in our understanding of the pathogenesis and best therapies for many disorders afflicting the child’s nervous system, as well as global collaboration to improve socioeconomic factors that continue to impact growth and development in many children worldwide.

Our program will cater to a range of learning styles, offering both didactic and interactive learning. There will be focus on practical and realistic translation of state of the art and gold standard care into viable capacity to implement at the clinical level. Cutting-edge, plenary lectures will be given by distinguished international experts and ICNA award winners. Challenging controversial topics will be addressed in several planned debates featuring international experts. Outstanding parallel symposia and breakfast seminars will include both more seasoned international experts as well as “rising-star” young investigators addressing a broad range of child neurology topics. Additionally, workshops (with one focusing specifically on research methodology) and interesting regionally representative patient presentations in a grand rounds format will encourage highly-interactive audience participation and encourage contributions from our junior members. Global and regional research advances will be highlighted in platform and interactive poster presentations.

As before there will be opportunities for best junior research awards, as well as bursary support for colleagues from low and middle income settings.

In addition to an outstanding clinical and educational program, ICNC 2024 will be a great opportunity to enhance your professional network and meet new collaborators, to present your own research and to catch up with old friends and make new ones. We look forward to welcoming you to Cape Town for a unique and memorable experience!

On behalf of the International Child Neurology Association, it is my great pleasure to welcome you to the 16th International Child Neurology Congress being held in San Diego, USA October 19-23rd 2020 in collaboration the Child Neurology Society. Our congress theme is "Sharing Knowledge, Sowing Friendships, Spreading Hope". The ICNCs have truly set the stage as the key forum which provides the very latest and most relevant updates on child neurologic disorders from a global perspective. Speakers from across the six major geographic regions will present at the congress. The scientific program will feature internationally recognized experts including themes of "Developmental and Epileptic Encephalopathies: What we know and what we do not know" (Nicola Specchio / Pritchard award); "Update in Pediatric Neurometabolic Disorders 2020: cerebral folate deficiency and disorders of polyamine metabolism" (Lance Rodan / Linda de Meirleir Neurometabolic award); "Burden of Neurological Conditions in the World's Children" (Charles Newton / Frank Ford Award) and "Dietary therapies for epilepsy in low resource settings: Challenges and successes" (Suvasini Sharma/ Shiela Wallace Award).

We are keen to hear from members of the ICNA and CNS community and encourage you to submit your proposals for symposium sessions, platform and poster presentations. Following the successful framework of previous congresses the globally representative scientific committee, chaired by Prof Jonathan Mink, will select the most innovative proposals to ensure a rich and diverse program which guarantees that all delegates will leave inspired and with knowledge gained.

There will be opportunity for the newly established Council of the Future Leaders of ICNA comprised of outstanding, regionally nominated senior child neurology residents, fellows and junior faculty to meet and discuss strategy, as well as how the ICNA can support junior child neurologists. In-line with previous congresses we will offer a number of bursaries for attendees from low and low middle income countries. Based on popular demand there will be a strong educational program inclusive of master classes and teaching courses. There will also be an opportunity for the meeting of different child neurology subspecialty special interest groups.

The networking opportunities building international collaborations is a key theme for the ICNA and the 2020ICNC-CNS congress will be an ideal opportunity to pursue this. The congress promotes connecting clinicians involved in the phenotyping of unique clinical populations afflicted with specific neurological diseases with researchers in state-of- the-art research laboratories.

Please join us for a scientifically stimulating ICNC2020 program in an atmosphere of warm collegiality at the beautiful coastal destination of San Diego, complete with access to stunning beaches, hikes along sandstone cliffs of the Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve and exploring the cultural hub at Balboa Park with its many museums, theatres and gardens.

We look forward to meeting new colleagues and engaging with old friends there.

Dear Colleagues,

We sincerely invite you to participate in the 16th National Iranian Child Neurology Congress which will be held on 14 - 16th September 2016 at Tabriz University of Medical Sciences, Tabriz, Iran.

Neurodevelopmental disabilities and delays are common problems in children, involving millions of children and their families all over the world, particularly in non-affluent countries. Most of these disabilities can be prevented or their severities can be decreased, giving these children the opportunity to have more productive and independent lives.

This congress aims to fulfill its role in helping these children and their families through increasing the awareness and practical skills of physicians, therapists, special education professionals.

The congress will be held by the collaboration of Iranian Child Neurology Association and International Child Neurology Association (ICNA) and is supported by Tabriz University of Medical Sciences, Pediatric Health Research Center, Ministry of Health and Medical Education of Iran, and UNICEF office of Iran. We will have participants from the countries around our region.

Several workshops about normal development, developmental screening tools, developmental disorders and developmental care of children will be held. The main language of congress is English.

The themes of the congress would be early detection, early diagnosis, early intervention and educating the caregivers.

Keynote speakers from Iran, Turkey, Europe, North America and Australia will have presentations in the congress.

We are looking forward to meeting you in the historical city of Tabriz.

It gives me the greatest pleasure to invite you to join us at the next International Congress on Neuromuscular Diseases to be held in Toronto from July 5-9, 2016. We are very excited to be hosting this important conference in Toronto as the Congress has been located in Europe for its meetings excepting the inaugural meeting in Vancouver in 2002. We hope to follow in the successful footsteps of the meetings in Vancouver, Istanbul, Naples and Nice. At the meeting in Nice in 2014, it was decided that the Congress would move to a two-year cycle instead of meeting every four years. At that meeting, Toronto won the bid to host the next International Congress in 2016

We have developed robust committees: International, program and local organizing, that are populated by outstanding neuromuscular physicians. The program committee is planning a fabulous program ranging across the spectrum of neuromuscular disorders. We will have sessions on muscular dystrophies, other myopathies, myasthenia gravis, polyneuropathies, spinal cord disorders, and neurofibromatosis to name some of the major themes within the Congress. We will have updates on our understanding of the genetics, pathogenesis, evaluation and treatment of neuromuscular disorders. At the end of this Congress, we hope that attendees feel that they have garnered the most up-to-date information available in neuromuscular disorders.

The members of the local organizing committee are very proud to be hosting the ICNMD2016 and look forward to welcoming you to our city and country. Toronto and its environs are an amazing place to visit. Our multicultural city has many diverse neighborhoods of interest to visitors. Short distances away are wonderful attractions such as Niagara Falls. We also have easy access to the North Country for those who are interested in visiting the Canadian wilderness. The meeting promises to be highly rewarding on a social basis as well as on an intellectual basis.

Please mark in your calendars the dates of the ICNMD2016, July 5 - 9, 2016, so that you may join your colleagues in what we hope will be a fantastic meeting.

Sincerely,

Dr. Vera Bril

Bridging worlds: child neurology from a global perspective

A  Dutch View: 14th International Child Neurology Congress,

May 1-5,  2016

It is with great pleasure that we invite the world’s pediatric neurologists, trainees, nurses, technicians, dieticians, speech therapists, physical therapists, and other (paramedic) specialists to attend the 14th International Child Neurology Congress from May 1-5, 2016 in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

As local organizing committee, we represent  the Dutch Society of Pediatric Neurology (NVKN). The organization of this congress is strongly supported by its members. Since its foundation in 1975, our society has continuously been active and has flourished. With a primary background in either adult neurology or pediatrics, Dutch pediatric neurologists are united in one society and form a well-trained and skilled group of colleagues. Our society aims to maintain the highest national standard for the care of all pediatric patients with neurological disorders, in close collaboration with our colleagues in neurology, pediatrics, genetics and rehabilitative medicine, among others.

In addition, the society aims to facilitate national and international pediatric neurology research. Furthermore, training in child neurology is considered of major importance.  Dutch pediatric neurologists have been traditionally active in ICNA:  Jacobus Willemse is one of the founding fathers of the ICNA, Ritske Le Coultre was the third ICNA president 1975-1979 and recently Michel Willemsen was elected as ICNA board member.

Please mark your calendar!

We look forward to welcoming you all in the beautiful city of Amsterdam for the  14th ICNC from May 1 – 5th 2016.
