[In Context] Appropriate selection of participants for clinical trials in epilepsy
Despite the approval of numerous antiseizure medications over the past three decades, many adults and children with epilepsy syndromes continue to have seizures or debilitating adverse events. New treatments are needed, but for these therapies to be approved by regulatory agencies, they must first be proven safe and effective through rigorous randomised trials. To determine which seizure types and epilepsy syndromes might benefit from an intervention, trials in epilepsy are generally done sequentially in different populations.Comments
