Vincenzo Guidetti is born in Napoli and lives in Rome (Italy).
He graduaded in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Rome “La Sapienza”.
In 1980 he became a specialist in Child and Adolescent Neurology and Psychiatry.
In 1993, he had a second specialization in Psychiatry.
Since 1991, he has teached Child and Adolescent Neurology and Psychiatry in the University of Rome “La Sapienza”.
Since 1998, he is Associate Professor of Child and Adolescent Neurology and Psychiatry at the University of Rome “La Sapienza”.
Since 2001, he is Professor of Child and Adolescent Neurology and Psychiatry at the University of Rome “La Sapienza”.
He is Director of the Child and Adolescent Headache Center of the Department of Child and Adolescent Neurology and Psychiatry (University of Rome “La Sapienza”).
He is member of the International Headache Society since its foundation ( Munich 1983)
Chairman of the Paediatric Subcommittee of the International Headache Society ( 1995-2003). He presented papers in 312 congresses (102 international congresses).Member of the Executive Committee of the International Headache Society (2003-2009).
President of the Italian Headache Society ( 2009-2010).
Chairman of the Executive of Child and Adolescent Neuropsychiatry Universitary Professors.
He had published 450 papers (almost an half on international journals).
He is the main Editor of the book “Migraine and Headache in Children and Adolescents” (Martin Dunitz, Publisher, London 2002).He published 35 chapters in International Books.
In 2007 He wrote the first book on Childhood and Adolescence Headache in Portuguese Language.
He published many books in Italian Language
His main domain of study is paediatric headache (diagnosis, therapy, comorbidities, prognosis, psychological factors), even if he studied and published papers on neurologic syndromes, sleep and eating disorders, mood disorders and epilepsy
He has been invited for Magisterial Lectures in Brasil, Chile, China, Chorea, Holland, Hungaria, Georgia, Japon, Norway, Turkey, USA. He organized the Teaching Courses on Childhood and Adolescent Headache in the IHS International Congresses of London 2000, New York 2001, Rome 2003, Kyoto 2005 ,Stockholm 2007, Filadelfia 2009 ,Berlin 2011; in the International Congresses on Childhood Headache Wien 2004, Istambul 2008 and in the Xth International Congress of Child Neurology , Daegoo (Chorea) 2009
